Frequently Asked Questions

What is Custom Engraving for High Flying Models?

Custom Engraving for High Flying Models is a personalization add-on that laser engraves custom text onto the aircraft's base for an additional fee. It turns a scale replica into a personalized aviation keepsake that honors a pilot's story and achievements.

Is the aircraft model included, or do I buy it separately?

This is the engraving service only, not the model itself. Choose the High Flying Models aircraft you want, add it to your cart, then add this engraving service so your wording is applied to that model. The two go together at checkout.

What are High Flying Models replicas made of?

High Flying Models replicas are hand carved from Philippine Mahogany, which gives each piece a warm, fine-grained, handcrafted character.

What can I have engraved on the model?

You can add a custom name or message that marks a milestone in an aviation journey. Buyers often choose a pilot's name, commemorative text for a retirement, or wording that celebrates a career or flight achievement. Keep your wording concise and meaningful so it reads cleanly on the model. Provide your exact text when you place your order.

What does the engraved lettering look like?

The precision engraving technique preserves the model's detail and museum quality finish, adding your wording directly into the surface for a clean, understated look. The lettering is etched rather than color filled, so it appears subtle by design. One reviewer wished the text stood out more, so choose short, clear wording if you want the most legible result.

How do I order and submit my custom text?

Ordering is simple and takes just a few clicks. Add your chosen High Flying Models aircraft to your cart, add this engraving service, and provide your exact wording when you order.

How long does an engraved model take to arrive?

Because each engraved model is personalized and built to order, allow extra production time beyond standard in-stock shipping. Plan ahead for retirements, ceremonies, or gift dates, as the wording you submit is applied before the model ships.

Is shipping free on an engraved model order?

Yes. We offer free shipping within the United States on orders over $100.

Can I return or change an engraved model after ordering?

Because each engraved model is personalized to your wording, this item is made to order and is not returnable. Please review your text carefully for spelling and accuracy before you check out.

Who is custom engraving a good gift for?

It suits professional pilots marking career milestones, students and new pilots celebrating achievements, and collectors who want a one of a kind piece. Flight schools and aviation businesses use engraved models as recognition awards and promotional items. It also makes a memorable gift for birthdays and other special aviation occasions.
