How do I know which headset plug I need?

Look at your aircraft's audio jacks. Two separate round plugs mean standard dual GA (the type in most piston aircraft). A single round 6-pin jack is panel power (LEMO). A single bayonet plug is helicopter (U-174). A 5-pin XLR is Airbus and many airliners. When in doubt, check what is installed in your panel.

Do all Cessna and Piper aircraft use dual plugs?

Most piston singles and twins (Cessna, Piper, Cirrus, Diamond, Beechcraft) use twin GA plugs. Some glass-panel aircraft also have an installed panel-power (LEMO) jack. Always confirm what is fitted in your aircraft before you buy.

What is panel power (LEMO)?
