Why Sam Lyons Prints Are Collectible

Sam Lyons' extraordinary attention to detail makes his aviation prints highly collectible among discerning enthusiasts. In "Cub Buddies," a radiant yellow Piper Cub takes center stage alongside its ground-based namesake, a crimson International Harvester Farmall Cub tractor. This unique crossover appeals to both aviation collectors and classic tractor enthusiasts, creating a distinctive piece of airplane wall art that tells a compelling story. The 16" x 24" composition depicts the Farmall Cub towing the aircraft from a charming rural hangar adorned with a distinctive red and white checkered roof, while a ruby red vintage aircraft soars gracefully in the background.

Authenticity and Historical Accuracy

Inspired by the real-life "Piper & Stinson" sign from Ranger Airfield in Ranger, Texas, this aviation collectible poster demonstrates Lyons' commitment to authenticity and historical accuracy. The artist's hyper-realistic technique transforms this signed aviation print into something that resembles a photograph more than traditional artwork, from the meticulously rendered vegetation to the stunning azure sky that seems to stretch beyond the paper itself.
