Cessna 172 Skyhawk SP (Blue) Clear Canopy Large Mahogany Model

What scale is the Cessna 172 Skyhawk SP mahogany model?

This model is built at 1/24 scale, resulting in a wingspan of 17.25 inches and a length of 13.75 inches from nose to tail. That footprint is large enough to command attention on a desk or shelf without overwhelming the space around it.

What makes this model different from a standard solid replica?

The clear canopy is the standout feature. It lets you see the hand-carved cockpit interior, including the instrument panel, seating, and flight controls. Most mahogany models use a solid fuselage, so this level of interior detail is genuinely uncommon at this price point.

What is the Cessna 172 Skyhawk SP variant?

The SP designation stands for Special Performance. It refers to a factory upgrade package that increased the standard 172's horsepower and useful load. Representing this specific variant adds accuracy and collector significance compared to a generic C172 replica.

Is this an officially licensed product?

Yes. Cessna emblems, logos, and body designs are trademarks of Textron Innovations Inc. and are used under license by PilotMall.com. That licensing guarantees authentic markings and protects the collector value of the piece over time.

What material is the model made from?

The airframe is hand-carved from solid mahogany wood. Mahogany is prized for its tight grain and natural luster, which gives the finished model a warm, rich tone that looks distinguished whether displayed in a home office, a hangar, or a corporate lobby.

Does it come with a display stand?

Yes, a display stand is included so the model is ready to show the moment it comes out of the box. No additional hardware or assembly is required beyond placing the model on the stand.

How is the model packaged for shipping?

It ships in a foam-fitted box sized for the model. The foam conforms to the aircraft's contours to prevent movement during transit. The shipping box dimensions are approximately 9 x 18.5 x 18.5 inches.

Can I return this model if I am not satisfied?

This product is marked no-returns. Please review the photos and dimensions carefully before ordering.

Who is this model best suited for as a gift?

It is ideal for student pilots, certified pilots, flight instructors, and aviation enthusiasts who have a connection to the Cessna 172. It also works well as a retirement gift, a desk centerpiece for an aviation business, or a meaningful addition to any aviation memorabilia collection.

Does this model require any assembly or batteries?

No assembly and no batteries are needed. This is a fully finished, static display model. It arrives complete and ready to place on its included stand. There are no moving parts and no power source required.
