Frequently Asked Questions
Can a CheckMate checklist replace my aircraft's POH or AFM?
No. CheckMate cards are supplemental, single-page reference and checklist aids. They are not factory Pilot Operating Handbooks and are not FAA-approved replacements for the approved flight manual your aircraft is required to carry. Use the card as a quick-reference flow, then always defer to your airplane's current, approved AFM or POH for limitations and procedures.
Is there a CheckMate Cessna 172 checklist, and which one do I need?
Yes. Pilot Mall stocks several Cessna 172 CheckMate+ cards by variant. Steam-gauge pilots typically want the 172 N or another lettered-model card, while glass-panel pilots should choose a 172 S-SP G1000 card. Match the card to your specific tail number's year and avionics, since the procedures and reference data differ between variants.
Do these come as a downloadable PDF?
No. Our CheckMate listings are physical, printed cards that ship to you, not digital downloads. The benefit of a printed card is durability and instant access in the cockpit without a screen or battery. If you need a specific model that you do not see listed, contact our team and we can check current CheckMate availability for you.
What sizes do CheckMate cards come in?
CheckMate offers standard and compact sizes. Standard cards are larger and easy to read at a glance, while compact cards are sized to fit a kneeboard or a tighter cockpit. Both list the same kind of normal and emergency procedures plus back-of-card reference data, so choose based on the space you have and your reading preference.
What information is printed on the back of a CheckMate card?
The reverse side carries the numbers pilots reach for most: weight and balance figures, fuel type and capacity, oil capacity, electrical and tire pressure data, and other model-specific reference items. Keeping this data on the same card as your checklist means fewer documents to manage during preflight planning and in the cockpit.
