RAM Aviation Mounts: Build Your Cockpit Mount

RAM mounts fit most phones, tablets, iPads, and aviation GPS units through a combination of universal spring-loaded X-Grip holders and model-specific cradles, so you can match almost any device by choosing the correct cradle while keeping the same base and arm.

Build the mount in three steps: choose a base by where it attaches in your cockpit, add an arm for the reach and angle you need, then select a cradle sized to your device, keeping every part on the same 1-inch B-size ball so they lock together.

Attach the base to your yoke, window, glareshield, or panel rail, press the arm onto the base ball, then snap the cradle onto the other end of the arm and tighten the center knob, which clamps all the ball joints at once and lets you reposition in seconds.

Most aviation RAM setups use the 1-inch B-size ball across the base, arm, and cradle because it balances strength with a compact footprint and is the size shared by the widest range of cockpit cradles and bases.
