I just passed my Part 107 FAA test for a sUA pilots license, and so I have a lot more appreciation for needing to have situational awareness as I fly my drone. I am in an Airspace G area, but very active skydiving and military base. I use this radio to listen to local aircraft operations.
I really like being able to put AA rechargeable batteries in this, clip it to my belt, and head out the door to fly the drone after checking local winds/temps. Very quality built and very easy to use if you threw away the packing material, such as the dead tree labeled, "Owners Manual." Pilot Mall shipped very quickly, and despite a weather shipping delay, it got here fast, safe and sound.
Pilot Mall has the best prices, great service, and I highly suggest this radio if you fly drones and want to have situational awareness of local aircraft.
