The RAM GoPro Hero Adapter with Flat Surface Mount Kit is tailor-made for the GoPro Hero lineup of action cameras and includes everything you need for hands-free recording from a variety of easily adjustable angles. Additionally, the kit's second-to-none components are optimized to dampen the vibrations/oscillations characteristic of aircraft, so you can count on silky-smooth footage even in turbulent conditions.
The centerpiece of the cost-saving combo is RAM's custom-designed GoPro Hero Adapter. Its precisely sized parts replace the camera's factory brackets and fasten directly to the underside of the HERO. The foundation of the assembly is a 2 1/2" D round base with four pre-drilled holes in the universal AMPs pattern. Its flat face allows the unit to be secured to an assortment of flush surfaces such as glareshield tops, instrument panels, shelves, and an array of RAM and third-party products (sold separately). Both the Hero Adapter and the AMPs disk have 1" rubber ball heads that connect to the combo's standard length (3.69") double socket arm. With the three pieces joined, the two ball-and-socket joints offer a nearly infinite degree of positioning possibilities. For added convenience, a single adjustment knob controls the tension on both joints. By far the most versatile, flight-friendly Hero-specific mount on the market.
