Frequently Asked Questions
Do the Turtle Beach VelocityOne Rudder Pedals work on Xbox by themselves?
No. On Xbox Series X, Series S, and Xbox One the pedals are not standalone. They connect through the included pass-through cable to the VelocityOne Flight Universal Control System, which is sold separately. On a Windows 10 or 11 PC, the pedals connect directly by USB and do not require the VelocityOne Flight system.
What platforms and PCs are the VelocityOne Rudder Pedals compatible with?
The pedals support Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 and 11 PCs. On PC you connect directly by USB for native support. For Xbox consoles, the pedals route through the separately sold VelocityOne Flight Universal Control System using the included pass-through cable.
Which flight simulators do these rudder pedals support on PC?
On a PC with direct USB connectivity, the VelocityOne Rudder Pedals work with popular titles including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, X-Plane 11 and 12, DCS World, and War Thunder. They give you dedicated rudder and braking control alongside a yoke, flightstick, or throttle setup for more realistic flying.
Do the rudder pedals need calibration software to work?
No special calibration app is required for basic use. On a Windows 10 or 11 PC the pedals are recognized over USB and work plug and play, and on Xbox they connect through the VelocityOne Flight system. You then map and fine-tune the rudder and brake axes inside your flight simulator's control settings.
Do the VelocityOne Rudder Pedals have toe brakes for braking and ground steering?
Yes. The pedals feature differential toe brakes that you apply by pressing the top of each pedal. The left and right brakes are controlled independently, so you can brake each wheel separately. This lets you make tighter turns and hold your centerline during taxi, takeoff, and landing for more realistic ground handling.
What type of sensors do the pedals use, and are they durable?
The pedals use precision non-contact magnetic sensors on the axes. Because nothing physically rubs together, they deliver smooth, high-resolution input and avoid the wear and maintenance issues common to traditional potentiometer-based pedals, helping them last longer with consistent accuracy over time.
Can you swap the pedals for different aircraft types?
Yes. The VelocityOne Rudder includes two sets of swappable pedals so you can switch between a small private plane configuration and an airliner style configuration. Combined with the adjustable pedal width, this lets you tailor the setup to the aircraft you fly and to your own foot spacing and comfort.
Can you adjust the rudder centering tension on these pedals?
Yes. The VelocityOne Rudder includes swappable springs for the main rudder axis, letting you change the centering force and feel. Lighter or firmer tension helps you match the response you prefer or the type of aircraft you fly, from light planes to heavier airliners, alongside the adjustable pedal width.
What is included in the box with the VelocityOne Rudder Pedals?
The package includes the rudder pedal unit, a USB-A to USB-C cable for PC, and a pass-through cable for use with the VelocityOne Flight system. It also comes with the second swappable pedal set, extra springs, grip pads, mounting screws, an Allen key, and the printed guides for setup.
How stable are the pedals, and can I mount them in a home cockpit?
They use sturdy metal construction with non-slip rubber pads and carpet spikes to stay put on hard floors or carpet. For a permanent home cockpit, pre-drilled mounting holes let you bolt the unit down. The adjustable width also brings the footprint in for easier storage when you are not flying.
