I have a SureFire Aviator, and in hindsight I wish I would have just bought this instead. You could buy 15 of these for the price of one Aviator! Like the Aviator, there are high/low settings for both white and red (the box erroneously says only high for red). I may pick up a few more at this price.

This is a premium flashlight with features that are so well thought out that you can tell a pilot (or multiple pilots) guided its development.
There are separate buttons for white and red light, but there are also two settings (low, high) for each. And something we all will love when night flying especially - each has a memory mode. So if you leave the red lamp on low for more than 5 seconds, for example, the next time you turn on the red lamp, it starts in low. No more pressing a flashlight tightly against your leg to avoid ruining your night vision when you turn on the light, just in case. It comes on exactly as intended without additional distractions. VERY nice.
Worth every penny, and Pilot Mall is tops in customer service. Buy it, you won't regret it.

I now have 4 of these. Small enough to leave in the plane pockets and flight bag. Great illumination and yet small enough to stash anywhere

I use your combo red/white flashlight for astronomy. I particularly like that both the red and white LEDs have two brightness settings (particularly the red). I can use brighter red to set up or take down astro equipment and dim red for reading camera dials and star charts without ruining my night vision.
