The 777-200 was first delivered to United Air Lines in 1995. United has 74 777-200 aircraft, 22 of which originally belonged to Continental Airlines before its merger with United. United branded the 777s as their International Premium Travel Experience (IPTE). These aircraft were delivered to United and Continental between 1995 and 2010. The average age of the fleet is about 17.5 years. United has planned to replace the 777-200s with Airbus 350s beginning in 2022. Interesting fact: Prior to the merger of United and Continental airlines, United's livery included what was called the blue, or blue-and-red "tulip" on the vertical tail. This design was discontinued after the merger with Continental.
