First I want to say that working with Pilot Mall has been a great experience. The products that you order get delivered on time and in great condition. I have ordered a lot of product and I have no complaints. Their tech support is also great. This radio has been a very good start for me. If you want to get into flying buy product from Pilot Mall you wont regret it.

Receiver is very sensitive. GPS works well. Menus require a bit of a learning curve. For example, you don't turn the GPS on and off (to conserve battery power when you only need COMM capability) in the GPS menu but rather in the Setup menu. And you can't start a memory scan in the Memory menu, you have to go to the Function menu. But, all in all, a nice machine!

Unit is fair with good receive (transmit has never been checked yet), relatively user friendly, and ships with good accessories. Cons...there is no gps data base built in so do not plan on bringing up a specific airport or waypoint. I did note that there seems to be a bit of extra noise that the squelch gate does not always address. I asked about an external mobile antenna but did not receive a response. I would recommend this unit based on my experience with others.
