Return From Rimini Limited Edition Sam Lyons Print

Every aviation illustration undertaken by artist Sam Lyons tells a story, and with Return From Rimini, he recounts an event of epic proportions. In the 16" x 24" image, Lyons relates the occurrences of September 9, 1944, when USAAF Major Robert McCart Hackney led a 48-aircraft bombing run on the city of Rimini, Italy. The central figure in the picture is Cowtown Avenger, Hackney's B-25 Mitchell, and the drawing portrays the Major himself at the controls of the medium bomber. As is characteristic of all of Lyons' creations, the airplane is 100% accurate from tip to tail, and its exterior markings are identical to those on the genuine article.
