Description

Our "Reluctant Dragon" model represents a B-17G that was delivered in 1943 and based in England (Snetterton) in 1944. It received severe damage during a bombing raid over Berlin on May 8, 1944. The aircraft had been heavily damaged by fighters. Seven crew members bailed out. Six became POWs. The seventh crewmember was listed as killed in action. The remaining three crewmembers managed to get the damaged "Reluctant Dragon" back to base. Interesting fact: There is one other B-17 named the "Reluctant Dragon" that is on display at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene TX.

This exquisite Boeing B-17G Fortress (Olive) Reluctant Dragon Mahogany Model is handcrafted by our master craftsmen from the finest Mahogany Wood. Attention is given to every detail, resulting in unsurpassed quality. Models come complete with a detachable wood display stand. The model will be delivered to your door securely in a foam fitted shipping box. These models make a great gift for any aviation enthusiast, veteran or history buff alike.

My purchase review

For the cost I anticipated much more detail; I’m underwhelmed.
