The U.S. Army Air Corps 322nd Bombardment Squadron
This Aeroplane Apparel Company design honors the legacy of the U.S. Army Air Corps 322nd Bombardment Squadron. Originally formed at the start of WWII in 1942, the 322nd deployed to the European Theater of Operations where they gallantly flew their B-17s over Germany and Nazi-occupied territory. In appreciation of their courageous devotion to their mission, the 322nd Bombardment Squadron was honored with two Distinguished Unit Citations. Their legacy didnt die with the end of the Second World War; the USAF reactivated the unit's colors in 1963, and the 322nd went on to fly the B-52 in nuclear deterrence missions and in combat over Southeast Asia, including the famous Operation Arc Light.
This handsome t-shirt features the classically styled AAC logo on the front and the 322nds logo on the back. Uncle Sam, fully regaled in red, white and blue, streaks through the air, carrying a bomb under one arm while accurately delivering a munition with the other. The squadron emblem and lettering above are portrayed as worn and washed out as if they were transported directly from the nose of a battle-hardened B-17 straight to this fine piece of apparel.
