Description

The P-47 Thunderbolt, also known as the "Jug", was the largest, heaviest, and most expensive fighter aircraft in history to be powered by a single piston engine. The P-47 was one of the main United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) fighters of World War II, and served with other Allied air forces.

This specific P-47 model is painted as "Tarheel Hal", which was flown by Lt. Davis of the 358th Fighter Group, 366th Fighters Squadron, 9th Air Force in Europe during WWII. "Tarheel Hal" is now owned by the Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston, Texas. The P-47 is available for airshows, flybys and film and is also a member of the extremely popular United States Air Force Heritage Flight program.

This handcrafted model is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen with a wealth of detail and makes a great gift for any veteran, aviation enthusiast or history buff.
