United Airlines currently operates 40 B737-800NG (Next Generation) aircraft, most of which were obtained through its merger with Continental Airlines in 2010. Following the merger, United adopted a livery very similar to that of Continental at the time of the merger. A United Boeing 737-800 flown from Houston to Chicago became the first U.S. commercial flight to be fueled by a blend of algae-derived biofuel and traditional jet fuel. Interesting Fact: Boeings 737 aircraft is so economical, efficient, and widely accepted, it will be developed as part of Boeing's Next Generation program, replacing their earlier 737 Classic series.
