Is your furry companion your favorite co-pilot? If so, you are not alone. These days, more and more dogs are taking to the sky.
Your dogās hearing is WAY more sensitive than your own. They hear higher frequencies than we do and can hear sounds further away than we can. That being said, all this airplane noise can seriously damage their hearing. From hearing loss, nerve loss and general discomfort; many dogs would prefer to keep their 4 feet on the ground.
Enter⦠Mutt Muffs!
We proudly stock Mutt Muffs for your furry friend. They are available in x-small, small, medium and large. These muffs have a dB rating from 25 and 28. They even use a lot of the same materials as your human headset. If it is good enough for you, it is good enough for him, right?!
How do I know what size Fido needs?
According to Mutt Muff standards, you can select the size based on the weight of your dog, or better yet, their head circumference. This is measured by creating a circle from the top of your dogās head, over the ears and under the chin. These muffs are āspecifically engineered to meet the contour of a dog's head to provide the best passive sound reduction possible.
Be sure you select the best fit for your pooch. If they do not seal properly, they will not offer any protection for Rover. While in use, they also keep your dogās ears folded down. This actually creates another sound barrier on top of the muffs themselves.
Mutt Muffs are a passive set for your best friend. That means that while they will offer decibel reduction, they will not eliminate all noise. Your fur-covered co-pilot will be more comfortable AND still be able to hear you!
Mutt Muffs are not just for aviation dogs. If your baby is uncomfortable or anxious during fireworks, thunderstorms (or even large family gatherings!); this may be the solution you are looking for.
We protect our hearing and it stands to reason we should protect theirs too!
