Although it isn't apparent in the description of the item, this "branded" ANR headset is actually a Lightspeed product, whose reputation is well-known and respected. To be able to get a set of ANR's for $200, by Lightspeed, no less, is pretty remarkable. Build quality is quite good. The ear seals and the head band are a step up from earlier models, and are notable improvements. The headset fits comfortably, it isn't a vice grip on your head, which is a relief. Also, the outer earcups are made with a textured surface that effectively hides fingerprints and scratches, unlike a set of similar ANR's I have that had "glossy" cups, which were marred up very quickly after purchase. These Pilot Mall/Lightspeed ANR's are fully-featured, including an Aux/Cell input, mike bias switching, a nice carry case and other nice touches. The battery/control pod is small and includes a battery level-tester. ANR performance is good, not Bose-level, but then again you are paying 1/5 of the cost. At this price you can equip all 4 people in a Cessna and still come under the price of one Bose. I can easily recommend these Sound Silencer headsets as an ideal entry level ANR for you pilots out there or a good set to get for your passengers, so they can enjoy ANR benefits as well.

This headset is actually a LightSpeed headset branded with the PilotMall.com name brand. The active noise reduction works well. I tried connecting my iPod and it works great. I have not tried to see if the radio over rides the iPod. I only have a few hours on this headset so I can't speak to the durability just yet but I think it will hold up just fine.

Bought this unit as my first set. Have been very impressed with the comfort and performance. Have compared to the Bose, and although these are not quite as good as the Bose, they are still very good! I will definitely be buyin 3 more sets for my family! The fact that all 4 sets are as expensive as 1 Bose set is very nice as well!

Have used this headset for about 150 hrs. No problems, and battery life is better than advertised (I get close to 40 hrs. on the batteries). Good ANR, durability seems great, very comfortable, audio is very good, even comes with an adapter so you can use a cell phone. As others mentioned, actually made by Lightspeed. A high-quality headset at a bargain price.... an outstanding value.

Price couldn't be beat for an ANR headset. Haven't utilized the MP3/Cell features yet, but everything works great. Microphone picks up well and very comfortable.

This was my first Headset purchase to be used for flight training. I have used the headset one time for my intro flight and it worked well. The headset is quite confortable, but I haven't had the chance to use all the features yet. If I need a second headset down the road, I will consider another set identical to the Sound Silencer ANR's!
