I got the Mach 1 out of frustration with failed electronics in active noise-canceling headsets. The Mach 1 is totally passive and depends on a good fit to achieve claimed noise attenuation. The 'free'foam ear pieces were inadequate so I got the custom ear molds. Properly inserted in the ear they work as advertised, but it takes some care and the ear molds must be clean of all ear wax or the speaker will fall out of the ear mold. There are two other um-buts: First is the hassle of putting it on: It's a lot more fastidious than just putting on a set of head clamps. Then there are the beensy wires. They tangle easily and I have not found a way to store them so they stay untangled. In summary: Once untangled and they are fitted properly (which means taking the time and the ear molds are clean) I don't even know I have them on, and I take 10-18 hr flights, so that's saying a lot. I really love the music and cell phone feature too. Would I buy them again? Yes, but I would insist on a more positive way of retaining the speakers in the ear molds so they don't come loose, and a more robust cable between the jacks and control unit might take some of the hassle out of setting up.
