Limited Edition Aviation Art by Sam Lyons More Info »
|
Sam Lyon's love of aviation since childhood led him down the road to his present career as a world-renowned aviation artist. His paintings can be found at military bases, museums, aviation gift shops, and in pilots' art collections throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Through his membership in the Air Force Art Program, Sam's painting "Lead Solo" graces the Air Force Art Hall in the Pentagon.
"Tuskegee Ace" is Sam's first Tuskegee P-51 print! This magnificent P-51 Mustang was flown by Lt. Lee Archer, the only Tuskegee Ace. His amazing accomplishments include flying 169 missions and scoring five kills in the P-51 … three of those were in one engagement on October 12, 1944. The plane was named "Ina - Macon Belle" after the girl Archer was sweet on at the time. Ina was charmed and the couple were married for 54 wonderful years. The most amazing feature of this print is the amount of details in the shiny surface of the P-51. The more you look, the more you'll see! This print is produced on acid-free, neutral-pH paper with permanent inks and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The large 15" x 30" prints are available in a Limited Edition size of 350 Signed & Numbered, 35 Artist Proofs, and 25 Gallery Edition Canvas Giclee with frame.
