Works well in Antiques
I tried both the Bose and Lightspeed in our Cessna 195. I like those headsets in the Cessna Cardinal, but they didn't seem to work as well in our radial engine powered airplane.
I shopped at Oshkosh and bought the headset because of the good money back guarantee and the "magic button".
I bought one of the first headsets on Saturday at Oshkosh, and departed Sunday with it on. Unfortunately we got the dud and it only worked when I bent the cable around the handset.
I sent a note on Sunday to Senheiser and they responded within an hour. They replaced the headset with a minimum of fuss, and it was worth the wait.
The magic button they talk about works really well for us. I can hear the radio much more clearly in the 195. It works so well that I can even hear the wind leaking in around my poorly sealed roll up window. We also have tried it in a tiger moth and it works better ithat type of environment than any of the other ANR headsets I've tried. It does sometimes create a buffeting noise if the ear cups are subject to wind at the wrong angle.
The headset isf more or less comfortable but I'm looking forward to the sheepsking head pads.
