Description

The Boeing 367-80, or "Dash 80", is an American prototype jet transport built to demonstrate the advantages of jet aircraft for passenger transport. The B367 was the first of a new generation of passenger jets and was designated it one of the 12 most significant aircraft of all time by the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. After 2,350 hours and 1,691 flights the aircraft was withdrawn from use in 1969; and is now on display at the Udvar-Hazy Center, an annex of the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum.

This specific model is painted in the Pan Am paint scheme. Pan American World Airways was founded in 1927 as a scheduled air mail and passenger service operating between Key West FL and Havana, Cuba. The airline has become a major company credited with many innovations that shaped the international airline industry, including the widespread use of jet aircraft, jumbo jets, and computerized reservation systems.

This handcrafted model is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen with a wealth of detail and makes a great gift for any veteran, aviation enthusiast or history buff.
