It was designed to replace older wide-body airliners and bridge the capacity difference between the 767 and 747. The 777 ranks as one of Boeing's best-selling models. The 777 is more fuel-efficient than others and because of rising fuel costs, airlines have acquired the type as an alternative to other wide-body jets. This specific 777 model is the 777-200, which is the original model and first entered service in 1995.
