The classic B-3 sheepskin "Bomber" jacket is modeled after the original used during WWII when B-17s and B-24s were not pressurized and the unheated cabins were extremely cold at high altitudes.
Note: Alpha Jackets typically take 48 hours to ship.

Owned for over 2 years. My review
I decided I wanted a shearling b3 bomber jacket but didn't want to spend 300 plus dollars so i bought a cheapie from another site. The finish was spotty, construction sub par and the wool began shedding after just a few months so i finally settled on this one and decided to bite the bullet and spend the 400 or so it cost at the time from Pilotmall.com.
After 2 years, it pretty much looks like the day i got it. It is an absolutely beautiful jacket and i get comments on it every week i wear it from random people. The finish is gorgeous and the pictures here don't do it justice. It has a stressed and finely cracked finish to it and is a lighter brown then the picture led me to believe which is actually what i wanted. The shearling is incredibly thick as is the wool which of course is not a liner, it is the actual wool growing out of the shearling sheepskin. It's as warm as i could ever require but actually regulates temperature surprisingly well. If it heats up a bit mid day when it was cold in the morning it's actually not stifling or stuffy to wear at all. The metal buckles have a nice faux antique finish to them that is still there and despite brushing up against rough concrete the jacket's finish is generally intact. It actually looks better with use and has a well worn look now but still very similar to the day i got it. It's not a light jacket, it weighs about 8 lbs if i remember correctly so it feels solid and well made.
A few stitches on some of the straps for the buckles have come loose which is to be expected, i haven't even had it restitched as it will probably never fall apart.
It's not a good indoor jacket as it's fairly heavy and just a little bit restrictive but that's to be expected.
Finest jacket I've ever owned, if it ever wears out which it doesn't seem like it will,l i will come right back here and buy another one.
Other B3's cost in the 700 dollar range but there is absolutely no reason to spend more. A word, it runs a little big. I'm 6 foot 4 and i didn't want a big billowy jacket and a size small fits me just perfect, the sleeves are just right with the cuffs rolled down.
