Red, Green, and Clear lenses filter the light and protect the LEDs. The red and green lenses preserve night vision. Green light does not wash out information on sectional charts like some red lights do. Both red and green lenses are included in this kit so you can try both to see which one you prefer. The clear lens is handy for protecting the LEDs when you don't need a color shift. All the lenses are strong, shatter-resistant plastic.
Lenses snap in and out with moderate force (a small, flathead screwdriver makes it easy). We prefer it this way since it makes sure they won't pop out when accidentally bumped. Fits the Petzl Zipka, Petzl Zipka Plus and Petzl Tikka Plus head lights.
