Use Gleim FAA Test Prep software (CD-ROM for Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0 or higher) to prepare for your FAA knowledge test. FAA Test Prep emulates the computer software of the test vendors listed at the bottom of the page, which you will use to take your test. Accordingly, you will have no problems with the computer operation (and by using the Gleim system, you will have no problem with the FAA knowledge test questions).

FAA Test Prep has both a study mode and a test mode and includes all of the airplane questions the FAA uses as a source for its pilot knowledge test:

  • The study mode permits you to select the number and source of your study questions and provides explanations for all answers immediately as you select them.
  • The test mode randomly selects questions to create a complete sample test that has the same composition of subject matter as an actual FAA test. It also permits you to select the style or emulation (presentation form) of the testing service you choose, e.g., CATS.
  • Both study mode and test mode allow you to select the order of questions in your study or test sessions. You may also select whether you wish the order of the answers to each question to be randomized (so you don't memorize answers A, B, or C to specific answer questions).

    FAA Test Prep has a performance analysis section that shows your correct answers as a percentage of total questions answered during your last session, your last three sessions, and all sessions (cumulative). This feature can be used to help you focus your study on the topics that will improve your test score the most.
